President's Corner

Greetings, JCSU family and friends! I am Tonya Jefferson Morrow, Class of ’91—though many of you know me as “TJ”—and I am proud to be a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. It is both a pleasure and an honor to serve as President of the JCSU 100 Club for the 2026–2028 term. As a former student-athlete who attended JCSU on a basketball scholarship, I am especially grateful for the opportunity to lead an organization devoted to supporting Johnson C. Smith University’s athletic program and the student-athletes who represent it.

Many of our members and donors know firsthand the life-changing value of collegiate athletics and a college education. Their support helps us pay that opportunity forward by creating more financial resources for today’s student-athletes. If you share our desire to help young adults earn a degree while competing in the sports they love, we warmly invite you to attend a meeting, support our fundraising activities, and—most of all—become a member of the JCSU 100 Club.

There is a place for everyone who wants to support Johnson C. Smith University’s student-athletes—whether by joining an existing event, helping us plan a new one, or serving on a committee. I encourage you to visit our website and Facebook page to learn more about our work. Each year, the JCSU 100 Club makes a meaningful contribution to the University’s athletic program and to our Endowment Scholarship, but none of it is possible without your time, generosity, and leadership. I look forward to welcoming you and working alongside you.

My hope for the 2026–2028 term is that you will choose one—or more—of these meaningful ways to get involved:

  1. Become a member of the JCSU 100 Club
  2. Make a donation if membership is not possible at this time
  3. Volunteer your time and talents to support our many events
  4. Share the great work we are doing and invite others to join us
